FoxHat is the most incredible combo of kitted out expedition 130 Land Rover Defender, and the biggest, baddest smoker that you’ve ever seen. Newly established by the most enthusiastic sourcer, cook and generally awesome dude, Ross Lamb.

Why not come along for a mid-week feast in the Granary at the amazing Guardswell Farm! Why do we always wait until the weekend to enjoy ourselves?!

At Fox Hat, we feel very lucky and are extremely excited to be collaborating with Guardswell Farm, to bring to you our smoked BBQ themed night, The Meat Up. When we were asked to do the Pop up evening, we absolutely jumped at the chance to work with such an amazing place as Guardswell! For anyone who doesn’t already know about Guardswell Farm, it is a 150-acre grassland farm situated on a south facing hillside, between Abernyte and Kinnaird, Perthshire. It has been expertly refurbished into a blank canvas venue, from a disused steading, with many purposes! From the front of the Steading or, from the fields above and below it, Guardswell has some seriously enviable views out over the River Tay to Fife and up and down the Carse of Gowrie. It has many amazing spaces inside, is light and welcoming and is a fantastic place to host a party, wedding, culinary course or event. Many of these traits can be used to describe the family at the core of this business…Anna Lamotte and her extended family (the Lamotte’s and Wilson’s) have done an amazing job of making Guardswell what it is today! They are amongst the friendliest people I have ever met and are incredibly welcoming. The feeling at Guardswell is that of a community and it shows in the wide variety of courses, events, weddings and accommodation that they offer. You’ll find many reasons to keep coming back, or just stay for keeps! This will be relaxed…synonymous with what Fox Hat and Guardswell are all about. Picture ‘Grizzly’ our Landy and Ginger the smoker, set up in the outdoor cooking space overlooking the Carse of Gowrie and the River Tay. Faint wafts of oak smoke rolling from Ginger with a drink in hand and then generous platters of smoked BBQ meats and sides piled high, to eat at the long table. This vision, to us, is why Fox Hat and Guardswell are the perfect match and we can’t wait to host you on the night.

We also have the superstar Alan Carberry coming along to strum away on his gorgeous guitar throughout the evening- accoustic modern folk to eat to.

If you are as obsessed with Francis Mallmann as we are, then this is the night for you! We’ll have games outside, and hopefully some sun, plus- its BYOB, so if you really want to start the weekend early- you can settle in for a night under the Lean To!
